The first candidate from Germany is received into the Congregation by Francis Libermann, Franz-Josef Düllemann from Neheim-Hüsten. He had already begun his theological studies in Paderborn. He is or-dained priest in Paris in1854 and teaches philosophy at Notre-Dame du Gard. He dies in Martinique in 1892 where he was involved in education.

Le premier candidat spiritain d’Allemagne Franz Josef Düllemann, de Neheim-Hüsten, est reçu dans la Congrégation par le P. Libermann. Ayant déjà commencé ses études théologiques à Paderborn., il est ordonné prêtre à Paris en 1854 et enseigne la philosophie à Notre-Dame du Gard. Il meurt à la Martinique en 1892; y travaillant dans l’éducation.
