Arrival of Fr. Joseph Strub and other Spiritans exiled from Germany as "Jesuit- related". Fr. Strub becomes the true founder of the Province and makes Pittsburgh the centre. Its purpose: pastoral care of foreign immigrants, educating aspirants in an open school or schools and work among African Americans.
