Reunion
Père Alexandre Monnet, of the 2nd order of Spiritans, returns to Bourbon. He is met by vio-lent demonstrations because of his stand against slavery. He is expelled by the governor shortly after his arrival. He is subsequently elected the 10th Supe-rior General of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit.

Le P. Alexandre Monnet, du 2nd ordre spiritain, retourne à Bourbon, accueilli avec démonstrations de violence pour ses convictions anti-esclavagistes. Il est expulsé peu après son arrivée. Ces évènements lui vaudront l’agrément du Gouvernement pour son élection comme 10ème Supérieur général de la Congrégation du St Esprit.

É expulso pouco tempo depois da sua chegada. Estes acontecimentos valer-lhe-ão a aprovação do Governo para a sua eleição como 10º Superior Geral da Congregação do Espírito Santo.
