After the Mission had recovered from the destruction of the cyclone the original idea of penetrating into the interior was taken up again and a Mission was founded at Mhonda in the Nguru moutains. Soon other stations at Mandera (1881), Morogoro (1882), Tununguo (1884), and Ilonga (1886) followed.
