"Since the beginning, the service of the poor has been one of the basic commitments of the Congregation and nearly all the signifi-cant experiences take root in this same concern. Our work with eth-nic minorities, with the marginalised in the great cities, with the youth that an uncaring society leaves to its own devices - none of this is new for those who follow Poullart des Places and François Libermann. It is seen rather as a basic obligation and is engraved in our Rule of Life. ÀOur mission is, above all, a commitment, in the name of Jesus Christ, to the total liberation of all people from all those things that enslave them. The Gospel is not just a message; it is a project of love aimed at transforming the world, to struggle for justice and peace" (Itaici 14).
Depuis nos origines, le service des pauvres a été l'un des engagements fondamentaux de notre Institut. Nos activités parmi les minorités ethniques, les marginaux des grandes cités, les jeunes qu'une société indifférente abandonne à eux-mêmes, ne sont pas une nouveauté pour les disciples de Poullart des Places et de Libermann. Ceux-ci y voient bien plutôt une obligation fondamentale, mentionnée explicitement dans leur Règle de Vie… Notre mission est avant tout un engagement, au nom du Christ, en vue de la libération totale de l'humanité, de tout ce qui la retient en esclavage. L'Évangile n'est pas seulement un message, il est un projet d'amour pour la transformation du monde par la justice et la paix. (Itaïci, n°14).
Desde o início, a dedicação aos pobres foi sempre um grandes compromissos da Congregação. O nosso trabalho com as minorias, com os que são explorados nas grandes cidades, com a juventude marginalizada pela sociedade, nenhuma destas actividades pastorais são novidade para os discípulos de Poullart des Places e Libermann. Ao contrário, são obrigações fundamentais e bem expressas na Regra de Vida... A nossa missão é acima de tudo um compromisso de libertação em nome de Jesus Cristo e em favor de todos os marginalizados. O Evangelho não é apenas uma mensagem, é um projecto de amor que pretende a transformação deste mundo através da Justiça e da Paz. (Itaici, n º 14).
