Kimmage Manor, Whitehall Road, Dublin is acquired by Fr John Murphy, Provincial. The first clerical Spiritan noviciate in Ireland is inaugurated with Fr Michael Kelly as master of novices. A brothers' noviciate is also set up. A school of philosophy begins there with 11 scholastics who follow classes at the National University. With these new developments, Ireland officially becomes a Province of the Congregation.
