Bishop Barron arrives in Gabon to decide on the location of the new mission. Exactly five years later, the first Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of Castres arrive: in 1852, they open a school and take on responsibility for the military and civil hospitals.

Arrivée de Mgr Barron au Gabon pour fixer l'emplacement de la nouvelle mission. Cinq ans plus tard, le 08.08.1849, ce sont les 4 premières Sœurs de l’Immaculée Conception de Castres qui arrivent. Elles ouvrent bientôt (1852) une école et se chargent des hôpitaux militaire et civil.
